University of Virginia's College at Wise Athletics issued the following announcement on July 20
Chloe Burdette will be joining the UVA Wise Athletic Media Relations Office as the department's assistant director of athletic media relations. Burdette comes to the college after most recently serving as the Editor in Chief of the Wooster Voice (Wooster, Ohio).
A native of Mt. Vernon, Ohio, Burdette has worked in various roles during her professional career, in addition to her work with the Wooster Voice. While an undergraduate student, she served as a student assistant in the sports information department at the College of Wooster. Previously, Burdette was a video production intern with the Akron Rubberducks, a Double-A Minor League Affiliate of the Cleveland Indians.
Burdette has also served as a videographer and announcer during her career, working with baseball, basketball and field hockey programs. In 2020, she served as the social media manager for the Newark Bison, a summer collegiate baseball team in the Great Lakes League.
"Chloe will be a great addition to our department," stated Assistant Director of Athletics for Communications Darrell-Dingus Ely. "Her writing ability, communication skills and previous experience working in an athletic communications office will allow us to further the promotion of our student-athletes and coaches."
The new assistant director of athletic communications will begin this week and serve as a primary sports contact for volleyball, men's basketball, softball, cross country and tennis.
