Griffith emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, "This workforce initiative aims to bring in new visitors from across the country, helping to boost economic development in the region." The funds provided by the ARC will support the Southwest Virginia Creative Economy and Tourism Workforce Initiative, in partnership with various organizations including the VA Tourism Corporation, VA Main Street, Heart of Appalachia Tourism Authority, Spearhead Trails Southwest Regional Recreation Authority, Birthplace of Country Music Museum, Primland Resort, Mountain Lake Lodge, Big Stone Gap Visitor Center, and Visit Wytheville.

These investments will benefit 18 counties, four cities, and 51 towns in Southwest Virginia. The goal is to attract tourists and boost economic growth in the region.
