The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Rural Development Community Facilities Program has granted $36,900 to the Calfee Community and Cultural Center in Pulaski, Virginia. This funding will be used to purchase furniture and equipment for a new childcare facility, benefiting the local community.

Congressman Morgan Griffith expressed his satisfaction with the grant, stating, "I am pleased that this grant of $36,900 will help enhance childcare services in Pulaski County. With the addition of furniture and equipment, the facility will be able to accommodate 79 children and provide after-school care for an additional 20. Furthermore, this grant represents another significant step forward in the restoration of this historic site."

The Calfee Community and Cultural Center, which is set to become a hub for community engagement and cultural activities, received further recognition when Congressman Griffith spoke at its groundbreaking ceremony in August.

This grant from the USDA's Rural Development Community Facilities Program will not only support the growth of childcare services in Pulaski County but also contribute to the revitalization of the Calfee Community and Cultural Center. The funding will ensure that the center can provide a safe and nurturing environment for children, helping to meet the needs of working families in the area.

The Calfee Community and Cultural Center is expected to play a vital role in the community, offering a wide range of programs and services. The newly funded childcare facility will complement the existing offerings, providing parents with peace of mind, knowing that their children are in good hands.

The USDA's support for the Calfee Community and Cultural Center reflects its commitment to investing in rural communities and promoting the development of essential community facilities. Through programs like the Rural Development Community Facilities Program, the USDA is working to enhance the quality of life in rural areas and strengthen local economies.

With the $36,900 grant, the Calfee Community and Cultural Center can move forward in its mission to provide vital services to the Pulaski community. The funding will play a crucial role in ensuring that the center can fulfill its vision of being a cornerstone for community engagement, cultural preservation, and educational opportunities.

As the project progresses, the Calfee Community and Cultural Center will continue to collaborate with local stakeholders, government officials, and community members to ensure that the childcare facility meets the needs of the community it serves. The center aims to create a nurturing and stimulating environment for children, supporting their growth and development.

The grant awarded by the USDA's Rural Development Community Facilities Program is a significant milestone for the Calfee Community and Cultural Center. With this funding, the center can make substantial progress towards its goal of becoming a vibrant hub for the Pulaski community, providing essential services and enriching the lives of residents for years to come.
