The Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) has allocated $700,000 to the Town of Stuart for its Downtown Revitalization Project. The funding will support the construction of an expanded roof covering at the Stuart Farmers Market and a 3,200 square foot multi-property deck structure in Stuart’s historic business district.
Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) expressed his enthusiasm for the grant, stating, "This $700,000 grant from ARC for Stuart’s downtown revitalization project is great news as the updates funded by this grant will not only make improvements at the town’s farmers market, but also transform a now unusable space in the town’s downtown area into a community amenity. This new deck structure will provide handicap accessibility to the buildings it will be built behind and also access to the creek below."
The investment from ARC is expected to breathe new life into Stuart's downtown area, enhancing both the functionality and aesthetic appeal of key locations within the town.
