The Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) has awarded Wise County a $545,692 grant to support the Riverview sewer extension project. This funding will connect 22 households to the county wastewater system.
U.S. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) commented on the grant: “Residents in rural areas are sadly prone to lack of access to adequate wastewater systems. This ARC grant for $545,692 helps Wise County support the public health of its community and its residents.”
The official name of the initiative is the Riverview Sewer Extension Phase I Project.
