Grayson County Education: 1,576 students were enrolled in 2023-24 school year

There were 1,576 students enrolled in Grayson County schools in the 2023-24 school year, 1% more than the previous year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

In terms of gender distribution, the student body in Grayson County comprised 52.6% boys, with girls representing the remaining 47.4%.

Data also showed that white students made up 86.5% of the student body, the largest percentage in Grayson County schools, followed by Hispanic students with 8.3%, 2.5% Black or African American students and 0.3% Asian students.

Grayson County High School had the highest enrollment among Grayson County's six schools in the 2023-24 school year, welcoming 457 students.

According to Public School Review, Virginia public schools have an average student-to-teacher ratio of 14:1, slightly better than the national average of 15:1. Minority students, primarily Hispanic and Black, make up 54% of the enrollment, while white students constitute 46%.
