On February 5, 2025, he emphasized his commitment to addressing the fentanyl crisis by reintroducing legislation aimed at combating the issue.
On February 5, Griffith announced, "On DAY ONE, I reintroduced the HALT Fentanyl Act. The American people demand action to combat the fentanyl crisis. We will vote on HALT Fentanyl this week so we can save American lives."
The following day, February 6, Griffith expressed gratitude towards former President Donald Trump for attending an event at the Capitol. He tweeted, "I thank President Trump for joining us at the US Capitol for the National Prayer Breakfast this morning. We pray for strong leadership and service to guide America to a new era of prosperity and peace."
Later that day, Griffith addressed public health concerns related to illicit drugs during a congressional hearing. He stated on Twitter, "Illicit drugs, whether it’s fentanyl or other substances, pose a serious public health threat to Americans. I point out some of these threats in our first Health Subcommittee hearing of the year."
