The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has allocated a grant of $289,995 to Clinch Valley Community Action, Inc., located in North Tazewell, Virginia. This funding aims to bolster the organization's Head Start programs.

Congressman Morgan Griffith expressed his support for the initiative: "Clinch Valley Community Action offers different programs and services to local communities in Southwest Virginia, including Head Start programs."

He further stated that the HHS grant would assist in providing necessary resources: "This HHS grant for $289,995 helps Clinch Valley Community Action provide Head Start resources to families and children at numerous sites in Tazewell County."

Clinch Valley Community Action began its role as a Head Start grantee in July 2013. The grant is managed by the HHS Office of the Administration for Children and Families. Within Tazewell County, there are several Head Start centers including those at Richlands Center, Cedar Bluff Center, Tazewell Center, and Camp Joy Center. Additionally, an Early Head Start Center operates out of North Tazewell.
