U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Mike Johnson has appointed Congressman Morgan Griffith from Virginia to the House Committee on Rules for the 119th Congress. At the committee's organizational meeting, Chairwoman Virginia Foxx announced that Griffith would serve as Vice Chairman.
The House Committee on Rules is one of the oldest standing committees in the House and plays a crucial role in shaping legislation. This marks Griffith’s first term on this influential committee.
Speaker Mike Johnson expressed his confidence in Griffith's ability to advance the "America First agenda," stating, "The American people can trust Congressman Griffith to work tirelessly in moving legislation forward to further President Trump’s priorities."
Chairwoman Virginia Foxx also voiced her support, saying, “His vast experience and knowledge...will have a tremendous impact in delivering upon President Trump’s agenda.” She looks forward to working alongside him.
Congressman Morgan Griffith shared his gratitude for the appointments, stating he is honored by both Speaker Johnson's and Chairwoman Foxx's decisions.
Griffith will continue his service on the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, where he chairs the Environment Subcommittee.
