CAVS SHOOT FOR THIRD STRAIGHT WIN, HOST BEARS SATURDAY

Lenoir-Rhyne is locked into third place in the Piedmont Division heading into next week's South Atlantic Conference Tournament and will travel to Tusculum for the opening round. However, Saturday's game at UVA Wise is of importance to the Bears. LR enters the game ranked fourth in the latest NCAA Southeast Region Rankings and can ill afford a setback in terms of its NCAA Tournament at large hopes. The team is led by Blaikley Crooks (14.4 ppg) and Emily Harmon (14.3 ppg). Each woman is lethal from the floor as Crooks makes 48.7 percent of her field goal attempts and Harman connects on 42.6 percent of her shots. However, the pair is even more problematic at the foul line where Crooks makes 87.2 percent and Harman shoots 84.2 percent.

ABOUT UVA WISE

UVA Wise enters Saturday's regular-season finale having won back-to-back games. Last time out, Jamie Cluesman's team scored a 69-62 win at Lincoln Memorial marking just the third time in program history the team had won at LMU. In the win, Nia Vanzant scored 21 points on 8-of-11 shooting while Caitlyn Ross netted 20 points while dishing out eight assists and recording a career-best two blocks. Katlin Burger came off the bench to post a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds as the Cavaliers shot 48 percent for the game. UVA Wise's defense was also on point as LMU was held to 21-of-67 shooting for the game, including an 8-for-28 performance from beyond the arc. It was also one of the best rebounding days of the season for Jamie Cluesman's squad who outrebounded the Railsplitters 49-to-29. The win guaranteed the program a .500 or better record for the second time in three seasons.
