Darryl Glenn Promoted to Assistant Dean of Student Affairs and Housing and Residence Life

Emory & Henry College has announced the promotion of Darryl Glenn to the position of Assistant Dean of Student Affairs and Housing and Residence Life in the Division of Student Affairs and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Belonging (SADEI&B). In this new capacity, Mr. Glenn will be responsible for assisting the Vice President for SADEI&B, John Holloway, to provide general programmatic support and coordination of divisional activities. Mr. Glenn will also serve as the Chief Housing Officer for all functions of housing and residence life.

A Missouri native, Mr. Darryl Glenn began his educational journey in 2011 at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Missouri, where he majored in graphic design technology management. Mr. Glenn completed his master’s degree in 2013 at Fort Hays State University in liberal studies with an emphasis in organizational leadership.Mr. Glenn joined Emory & Henry College in July 2022 as the Director of Housing & Residence Life. Since his time at Emory & Henry, he has accomplished many things on campus and within the state of Virginia. Glenn currently serves as a Senior Housing Officer for the Southeastern Association of Housing Officers (SEAHO) task force and the Small School committees. He is also the Small School Representative for the Virginia Association of College and University Housing Officers (VACUHO), an executive council member for the TriPride Board and a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated.“Dean Glenn’s updated title more accurately reflects the breadth of his managerial oversight and programmatic responsibilities. Emory & Henry is fortunate to have Dean Glenn, as part of the College community,” said John Holloway, vice president for student affairs and diversity, equity inclusion, and belonging. “He brings a wealth of knowledge and a vast number of years as a student development practitioner working in support of student success.”To date, Mr. Glenn has provided strategic vision, leadership, organization and supervision for multiple areas within Student Affairs, including Residence Life, Student Life Programs, Orientation Programs, Registered Student Organizations, Greek Life, Military and Multicultural and Diversity Programs and Student Conduct. Mr. Glenn believes that education is one of the biggest keys to success, and he strives to help all he encounters attain their goals.Assistant Dean Glenn encourages students to contact or visit him when needed and his time allows.
