There were three Asian students enrolled in Russell County Public Schools District in the 2023-24 school year, 50% more than the previous year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

Data showed that Russell County Public Schools District welcomed 3,454 students during the 2023-24 school year. Among them, Asian students comprised 0.1% of the student body to be the least represented ethnicity in the school.

Russell County Public Schools District roughly covers schools within Russell County and has a main office in Lebanon.

Among the 11 schools in Russell County Public Schools District, Swords Creek Elementary School, Lebanon Primary School, and Lebanon Elementary School welcomed only one Asian student in the 2023-24 school year.

According to Public School Review, Virginia public schools have an average student-to-teacher ratio of 14:1, slightly better than the national average of 15:1. Minority students, primarily Hispanic and Black, make up 54% of the enrollment, while white students constitute 46%.
