There were five Hawaiian students enrolled in Wise County Public Schools District in the 2023-24 school year, 16.7% less than the previous year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

Data showed that Wise County Public Schools District welcomed 5,883 students during the 2023-24 school year. Among them, Hawaiian students comprised 0.1% of the student body to be the second least represented ethnicity in the school.

Wise County Public Schools District roughly covers schools within Wise County and has a main office in Wise.

Among the 11 schools in Wise County Public Schools District, Union Middle School, Union High School, and St. Paul Elementary School welcomed only one Hawaiian student in the 2023-24 school year.

According to Public School Review, Virginia public schools have an average student-to-teacher ratio of 14:1, slightly better than the national average of 15:1. Minority students, primarily Hispanic and Black, make up 54% of the enrollment, while white students constitute 46%.
