How many students were enrolled in 10th-grade in Buchanan County in 2023-24 school year?

There were 198 10th-grade students enrolled in Buchanan County schools in the 2023-24 school year, 10.6% more than the previous year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

The school that enrolled the largest number of 10th-grade students in the county was Grundy High School.

Within Buchanan County schools, the largest number of students were found in 9th-grade, while pre-kindergarten had the least students.

Statewide, Buchanan County ranked 88th in enrollment numbers. It was ranked 87th the year before.

As of November 2023, according to Public Schools Review, Virginia public schools saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:14, which is better than the national average of 1:15 in public schools nationwide.
