The Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) has awarded a grant of $1,692,538 to Appalachian Sustainable Development. This funding is aimed at supporting businesses and organizations that contribute to the food and agriculture industries in Appalachia. U.S. Congressman Morgan Griffith expressed his support for the initiative, stating:

“This ARC grant for nearly $1.7 million helps Appalachian Sustainable Development support food and agriculture entrepreneurs in the region.”

The project will focus on developing agriculture and food systems as an entrepreneur-driven industry. It will provide training and technical assistance necessary for engagement in these sectors. Additionally, it emphasizes regenerative practices and community involvement to foster a brighter future centered around Appalachia's workforce.

The project is titled: “Groundwork: Growing the Capacity of Appalachia’s Food and Agricultural Entrepreneurs.”
