In a recent decision, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled 6-3 in favor of Governor Youngkin, allowing Virginia to continue removing noncitizens from its voter rolls. The order was brief and did not include an explanation for the majority's reasoning due to the emergency nature of the case. With this ruling, Virginia is permitted to proceed with the removal process.

U.S. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) commented on the decision, stating: “Today’s decision by the Supreme Court is the correct ruling. The Department of Justice waited until it was too close to the election to suddenly have a new theory of enforcing an old federal law.”
