The U.S. House of Representatives has elected Mike Johnson as Speaker of the House. Following this election, Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) and his colleagues were sworn in for the 119th Congress.
Congressman Griffith expressed his support for Speaker Johnson and emphasized the objectives of the Republican majority. He stated, "The American people elected a Republican trifecta in 2024 to work to reverse inflationary policies caused by the Biden Administration, secure our southern and northern borders, and project American strength worldwide. I supported Mike Johnson for Speaker so House Republicans can get to work quickly and address these critical issues."
