The U.S. Department of Transportation's Federal Railroad Administration has allocated a $304,000 grant to Giles County. This funding is designated for a project aimed at examining highway-rail grade crossings to address safety and mobility issues.

U.S. Congressman Morgan Griffith commented on the grant, stating: "This DOT grant for $304,000 helps Giles County explore potential safety measures to benefit pedestrians, vehicular traffic and train service."

The funds are provided through the FRA’s Railroad Crossing Elimination grant program. Congressman Griffith supported the initiative by submitting a letter of endorsement.
