How many students were enrolled in Buchanan County Public Schools District in 2023-24 school year?

The only school district in Buchanan County suffered declining enrollment in the 2023-24 school year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

There were 2,378 students in Buchanan County Public Schools District, 3.4% less than the year before.

Enrollment in Buchanan County was steady with the state's trend of decreasing enrollment.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2023-24 school year, 52.1% of them were male, and 47.9% were female.

Data also showed that most of the studets were white, representing 97.4% of Buchanan County Public Schools District's total enrollment.

Buchanan County Public Schools District has a main office in Grundy and is the only school district within Buchanan County.

According to Public School Review, Virginia public schools saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:14 in the 2023-24 school year, which is better than the national average of 1:15 in public schools.
